The Types of Photographs assignment was meant as a way to explore the 6 different categories of photographs.  The categories are Descriptive, Explanatory, Interpretive, Ethically Evaluative, Aesthetically Evaluative, and Theoretical. This assignment was my first time dabbling with a DSLR camera so feel free to use this collection as a comparison for how I've developed as a photographer!
(Definition of type of photograph will be attached each photoset)
Aesthetically Evaluative: Something a photographer finds worthy of aesthetic observation and contemplation - often about the idea of beauty
Descriptive: A photograph with the intent to describe its contents – ID photos, x-rays, etc.
Ethically Evaluative: Photos that make ethical judgements about society
Explanatory: A photograph that explains the way something works – kind of like a scientific study
Interpretive: A personal, subjective interpretation – more like poetry than science
Theoretical: Photographs about the medium of photography – images that engage with the history of art and photography
